What we collect

Caption Search does not require an account and does not run analytics, tracking scripts, cookies for tracking, or advertising networks. We set one technical cookie only if you switch the color theme — that preference is stored in your browser's localStorage and never leaves your device.

Server logs

Caption Search runs on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare maintains standard access logs (IP address, user agent, request URL, timestamp) for security and abuse prevention. These logs are not combined with any other data and are retained only as long as Cloudflare's infrastructure requires.

Search queries

Search queries are sent to our caption index to return results. Queries are not tied to your identity and are not stored for analytics purposes.

Third-party content

When you play a result, Caption Search embeds YouTube's video player using youtube.com. YouTube's own privacy policy governs any cookies or data that YouTube sets during playback.
